Principal Message

Dear West Valley Families,

As principal of West Valley Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome you or welcome you back to the 2023-2024 school year.  We are all excited to have students back in our classrooms and fill them with energy and enthusiasm for learning.  It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of the West Valley family.  I am truly honored and excited to lead the West Valley Elementary team as we continue to support students academically, socially, and emotionally.  

This year we will continue to focus on our District Strategic Plan: Relevant & Rigorous Instruction, Personalized Learning, and Whole Child.  Our academic program is rigorous, engaging, and aligned to the state standards.  Our amazing teachers use research based strategies to develop students' critical thinking skills, including the meaningful use of technology in instruction, learning how to collaborate, and help students develop scholarly habits and motivation.  Teachers analyze academic data to determine current skill levels for academic growth and improvement.  As a staff, we are committed to 21st Century Learning to best prepare students for a successful future.  It is also our priority to support the social-emotional well-being of our students and families.  

Our first day of school is Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 8:15AM - 2:20PM (TK-3rd) or 8:15AM - 2:50PM (4-5th).  The WV staff is happy to welcome or welcome back our WV Superstars.
