About the Principal

Dear West Valley Families,

Welcome to a new school year!  I am honored and excited to have been appointed as  the Principal at West Valley.  I want you to know that I am fully committed to the school and hope to serve the community in future years.  It is my goal to continue the legacy of success through collaboration, hard work and a strong community partnership.

A little about me; I grew up in Taiwan. I finished high school in Taiwan and came to the United States for higher education in teaching and administrations.  I am an example of East meets West.  With the diversity of our community, I believe in fostering cultural inclusion and appreciation of cultural differences to make school a welcoming and embracing learning environment.  I know we have a group of exceptionally caring and dedicated staff and faculty.  We also have a group of highly committed and involved parents to build partnership with in making West Valley a great learning place for all.  Our students are excellent learners, we take every opportunity as a learning experience.

I am excited to continue making West Valley a safe, respectful, responsible and courageous community.  To achieve this goal, in the following weeks, I will be inviting community members, staff and students to meet with me.  With your feedback, I will create a plan, with actions that are important to continue growing our safe, respectful, responsible and courageous community.  The purpose of the “hit the ground learning and listening tour” is to build deep trust and lasting relationships, to understand all facets of the West Valley community, and engage all educational partners in collaborative planning.  These are the three stages of the plan:

July-September - LISTEN - Meet with all educational partners, and community to listen.

October-November - REVIEW - Review all site plans.  Engage staff on opportunities and challenges facing West Valley.

November-December - SHARE - Share findings with all educational partners and community and create a plan for next steps.

In closing, I am looking forward to meeting each of you.  Thank you for your support.  Together we will continue building a safe, respectful, responsible and courageous community.
